Beautiful! Very nice place!! Shallow wading pool to cool off in and for kids to enjoy. Coy pond. Hiking trails. Horseshoe pits and more. Lovely place! Surrounded by a natural spring, grapevines, mint and fruit trees and very nice grass. Beautiful!
The hiking and biking is superb at this park, and it has an awesome campground. The day use area is a lush green oasis. Grounds are handsomely maintained. The biking/hiking trails connect to the regional trail system. Did I mention the views? You can’t get away from them!
a very cute park with lots of shade trees, picnic tables, barbecue stands and a swimming hole. It has a volleyball court and horseshoes! it has a nice little campground with shades over every picnic table.
Beautiful small park. We put our camper there. Shower included on the top of the bathrooms. LITTKE gem in Caliente.
This is one of my favorite state parks to stay at!! Sites have electric and water hookups and the park area is best when the wading pool is open. Great trails for hiking and very close to the town of Caliente for picking up supplies, groceries or simply eating at any of the small town restaurants.
Very well maintained park. Although I did not stay to camp at the park I met several people who did and they said it has amenities such as clean showers and bathrooms. I rode the mountain bike trail that was newly built around the park and it was amazing. The views are stunning. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area. It is a $5 entry fee to enter the park. I almost forgot to mention. They have volleyball courts, horse shoes, a place to bbq with table seating. It’s awesome. For $5 for a day pass and $15 to camp you can’t beat it.
This place is an oasis not many people know about. It's green and lush, quiet and at least 10°f cooler than it's surroundings. It's about a 15 minute drive off the hwy. In Caliente, NV but well worth it. You won't want to leave, so give yourself extra time to enjoy it. Restrooms are clean, just like everything else. Ie: picnic tables, pools, walkways etc.
A small state park, but so beautiful! It was great for a daytrip from Vegas and to spend a couple hours.
Camping: flush toilets and showers available! Oh, and the campground has Wi-Fi for those who prefer some connectivity. AND! A free little library!
Hiking: the map said 1.5 miles round trip to the scenic viewpoint, but ny phone registered a total of 3 after my trek. Do I mind? No. It was a beautiful day, lots of switchbacks, the benches are nicely spaced for rests.
Bring a picnic! The center of the parking area has a lovely grassy area or there are picnic tables everywhere for a break.
Got kids? There's a whole playground for them! Along with a volleyball court (and the net was in great condition) and a place to toss horseshoes.
I went in fall when the leaves were yellow and the day was still warm. I'll be back in spring when I hope more water will be running!
